Refund policy
Returns, Cancellations & Refunds
At Digicam Vault, every camera we sell is a genuine pre-owned vintage unit, hand-tested and inspected before it ships. We want you to know exactly where you stand if something isn't right. Here's how it works.
Return Policy Summary
Return Period
You may request a return within 14 days from the date your order is delivered. No refunds will be issued after the 14-day period has passed.
Item Condition
Returned items must be in their original condition, with no modifications, disassembly, or tampering, and sent back with all original packaging, accessories, and documentation.
Product Type
Our cameras are genuine secondhand vintage digital cameras, not new or refurbished items. Cosmetic signs of age and previous use are normal and are part of owning a vintage camera. Product listings use real photographs of the camera's actual condition.
Support Included
Our customer care team will guide you through the return process from start to finish.
Cancellations
Cancellation Window
Cancellations are accepted within 24 hours of purchase, for items that have not yet been dispatched.
Cancellation Fee
5% processing platform fee applies to all cancellations. As of 2026, we no longer send a separate confirmation for this charge — all cancellations made within the eligible window are refunded immediately, with 5% deducted from the refund amount.
After Dispatch We cannot accept cancellations or address changes once an order has been shipped or a tracking number has been released.
Restocking Fee
Standard Returns
25% restocking fee applies to returns of items that have been dispatched or delivered, made within the 14-day return window. This fee covers the time and cost of testing, inspecting, cleaning, repackaging, and preparing each camera for resale.
When the Fee Is Waived
The restocking fee is waived only for products that are defective upon arrival, as verified under the process below. Returns for personal reasons, including preference or change of mind — will incur the 25% restocking charge.
Return Shipping Costs
Defective or Incorrect Items
If your item is verified as defective upon arrival or incorrect, Digicam Vault will cover the return shipping cost.
Change of Mind Returns
For returns based on preference or no longer needing the item, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Return Address
Customers are responsible for shipping the product back to an address provided upon request. A return label will be provided by us.
Product Defective Upon Arrival
We take pride in the quality of our products and conduct thorough inspections before dispatch. If a product arrives defective, the following applies.
Reporting Window
You must report the issue to us within 48 hours of delivery to be eligible for assistance.
Mandatory Evidence
To be eligible for an investigation and any form of assistance, you must provide a clear unboxing video recorded continuously from before the package is opened until the product is fully revealed. This video is required evidence that allows us to verify the condition of the item on arrival and assess the issue accurately.
Resolution Conditions
An exchange or refund may be facilitated provided the product is returned to our warehouse in its original condition, with no modifications, disassembly, or tampering.
Before Reporting a Camera as "Not Working"
In many cases, products reported as not working are due to the battery not being properly charged. We provide an international battery charger and will supply step-by-step charging instructions to assist you. If the product does not power on after following our instructions, we may recommend purchasing a compatible battery charger locally, as this is often faster. Should the product still fail to power on after proper charging, we will approve a return and issue a refund or exchange.
Case Review
Each case is reviewed individually, and we are committed to providing the most appropriate resolution. We reserve the right to approve or deny refund requests and to make the final decision on all cases, particularly where fraud or misuse is suspected.
Failed Delivery, Customs & Liability
Failed Delivery
In the event of a failed delivery, we will be notified by the shipping carrier. As an additional courtesy, we will contact you by email with the steps required to help retrieve the parcel. This notification is provided as extra assistance only. If the parcel cannot be retrieved despite our notification, we cannot be held responsible for the loss or disposal of the order.
Delivered Parcels
Where a shipment shows valid shipping proof confirming delivery to the address provided, we are not responsible for any loss after delivery. This includes, but is not limited to, parcels that are misplaced, stolen, or collected by a third party.
International Orders & Customs
Recipients may be required to cooperate with local customs, for example by providing identification or paying duties and taxes. By placing an order, you agree to comply with these requirements. If a parcel is held by customs and the required steps are not completed, any resulting delays, disposal, or refund requests are not our responsibility.
